Communities

A Professional Learning Community (PLC) is a group of educators that meets regularly, shares expertise, and works collaboratively to improve teaching skills, the curriculum offer and the academic performance of pupils.

Our PLCs complement the Tauheedul College School Improvement Offer and provide opportunities for network ‘thinking’ across and between schools, subject areas or specialisms and phases.

Tauheedul College PLCs provide opportunities to:

  • Share and develop teaching skills and approaches
  • Help secure understanding of subject standards through, for example, standardisation and moderation activities or cross school QA of the marking of assessments
  • Share approaches to internal assessment
  • Jointly consider the changes to examination specifications and the implications of these
  • Share pupil performance data and effective approaches to intervention
  • Develop curriculum provision

Our PLCs operate at a local level bringing colleagues with a responsibility for education, within our Tauheedul alliances, together to create collective capacity for school improvement.
